Classes - Class prices do not include books, patterns or supplies, unless indicated.  Classes must be paid for at time of registration.  Students are responsible for making sure they have the supply list, supply us with a self-addressed envelope if it needs to be mailed and bring the appropriate supplies.  We reserve the right to cancel a class if our minimum is not met.  If you cancel prior to five days before the class begins, you will receive a shop credit equal to the amount paid.  No credits or refunds will be issued for student cancellations within five (5) days of the start of the class.  You must register to reserve your seat.

Abigayle's Mystery Quilt #26

Yes, its back!  After many requests, the Abigayle's Mystery Quilt is back!  Here's how it works - It is a six week mystery quilt.  Week one - all the fabric for the top and binding is shipped to you with Clue #1.  Each week thereafter, for five more weeks, a clue is mailed on Tuesday morning.  Every mystery quilt is very different and available in two color ways.  This mystery quilt has optional machine techniques that can be done on almost any sewing machine!  Postage is $15 in continental U.S. for entire program.

 

 

         

 

Add-a-Block

First Thursday each month

Need another great reason to run to Abigayle's this month? Here's a good one! Stop in anytime from 10a.m. to 8 pm on the first Thursday and get a one "Add-a-Block" for FREE! The program features quick to make blocks in your choice of three color ways; Burgundy and Paperbag, Fall Foliage, or Citrus Batiks. The rest of the month a block can be added for one dollar with any other purchase. Just simply say, "Add-a-Block"!  Bev is designing these blocks so you know this is going to be fun.  Twelve blocks will presented in this series, with three different setting options.  Available by mail for $5.00 per block.  Postage included in continental U.S.
 

Tuscan Gardens

Just announced by BERNINA!  Starts in February!

Tuscan Gardens is a BERNINA exclusive embroidery, that Susan Fears, (outstanding BERNINA educator), made into a beautiful quilt for the 2012 BERNINA Block of the Month.  The designs are softly reminiscent of ancient decorative motifs.  Timeless beauty of design is achieved using the BERNINA DesignerPlus v6 Software and your embroidery machine.  We will combine, size, wreath and manipulate these embroideries to make the most gorgeous blocks.  Join us each month for a software class and get that month's block fabric for FREE! 

 

 

Baltimore Liberty

Second Saturday each month

You'll be setting off firecrackers all year when you make this patriotic quilt in a traditional Baltimore setting. The fabric for these blocks can cost as little as $15. There is a $15 registration fee when you sign up for this 13 month - block of the month. The fabric kits are offered each month on the second Saturday, in the store, at no additional charge, with that month's pattern purchase. Each block will be available for pick up on the 2nd Saturday of the month, patterns additional, but 25% off on that day only. Each of the 12 monthly blocks will be $5 thereafter ($20 for the center block) – as available. Center block, borders, binding and backing are additional. It is available by mail for $5 per block, patterns, and postage additional.
 

 

Pumpkin Patch

Third Saturday each month

When we first saw this quilt, we thought it was so fun and had to make it!  The blocks are large, graphic and easy.  Make this quilt for your favorite Halloween Fan!  There is a $15 registration fee when you sign up for this 10 month - Block of the Month.  The fabric kits are offered each month on the third Saturday at a 25% discount, only when you come into the store that day.  Borders, binding and backing are additional.  This quilt is available by mail, please call for pricing, postage additional.

 

Block Bonanza

For the small sum of $5, you can make an entire quilt top. Each month we will present a block for you to complete and bring to the next session. If you complete the task, and bring it to the Saturday session, you will get the next block for free! The rules are strictly enforced, but the benefits are great! Pick your colorway from our three selections and off we go! At the end of the year you will have completed the blocks for a large quilt. Start anytime. Call for more details! Quilted Village – The City Stitcher

 

Country houses surround a town green in this pattern series. If you make one house a month, you’ll have this quilt done in 13 months. This is hands-down the most popular quilt we have ever seen! Repurposing, creating, sewing and laughing. These are the goals of this club. Most projects will be finished during the session. Deciding what to work on next is part of the fun of this group.

 It is no secret that Nancy loves to share her passion for sewing with Sergers. This wonderful tool does everything from the simple to the sublime in seconds. For many however, this amazing machine remains a mystery. This new program will hopefully educate current serger owners and inspire new ones!

 

Nancy will demonstrate a simple project that features a serger technique, an accessory foot, or a decorative thread. Registered attendees will receive a written hand out for the project and a discount on the featured items.

In addition, for each session attended, participants will receive a ticket for a drawing at the end of the year for a gift certificate to Abigayles! Sewing is one of the hottest new trends! In addition to being lots of creative fun, sewing is a necessary life skill. Ever wonder how to hem a pair of jeans, shorten a T-shirt or replace a zipper or button?   Would you like to learn to read a pattern or add embellishments, patches and embroidery to ready-made clothing to create your own sense of style?

 

This program is designed to meet the needs of the beginner. The focus will be on clothing. Projects will be completed on entry level to midline sewing and embroidery machines.

 

Nancy will demonstrate a simple project that features a specific skill or technique. Registered attendees will receive a written hand out for the project and a discount on the featured items.

Machine Embroidery Projects – All sewers are welcome in our machine embroidery classes.  We are providing our BERNINA 830's in the classroom, but unless stated, you will not be able to finish some projects without an embroidery machine at home.  Classes will be noted that can be finished with our embroidery machines in class.  Unless provided for class, you must purchase a copy of the machine embroidery CD and bring it to class – no sharing.  We fully respect copyright laws.

Yes!!  Sergers can be used for quilting.  We’ll whip up this one in a jiffy.  Simply layer the fabric strips with batting and create the front, back and quilting in a single seam.  Bring your own serger, or try it on one of ours.  This is intended to be a learn to use a serger class, as much as a project class.  So bring your curiosity about the serger and join Nancy for an exciting session of serger quilting.

When we featured this quilt in the shop  a few years ago, we had to make one in every color way! For those of you determined to reduce your stash and make some quick quilts for gift giving, here is your project! Start by selecting a gathering a wide variety of fabrics 10” square or smaller. Cut circles, layer them and sew around the edges, no edge finish, fraying is part of the design. Cut them in half twice, and reassemble. No fussy matching of corners!  Not confident in your fabric selection? Choose from our kits of preselected fabrics. Just too much fun!
