The Official

Cuyahoga County Bicentennial Quilt

               Abigayle's

  Quiltery

Abigayle's is proud to announce this cooperative project quilt. Working in conjunction with the Cuyahoga County Bicentennial Committee, Cuyahoga County Public Library and the Cleveland Metroparks, we have designed a historical quilt for the Cuyahoga County Bicentennial celebration. We are giving the patterns free at all of the above locations.  The sample is currently hanging At Abigayles.  Please stop in to see this memorable quilt.  Join us in celebrating our heritage in Northern Ohio. The Bicentennial Committee has planned a wonderful quilt show at the Cuyahoga County Fair in August 9 - 15, 2010.  Plan on entering your quilt in the show.  What a coup to win a ribbon.  The winner will hold that position for another 100 years!!  Prizes include an exceptional BERNINA sewing machine.  Now is the time to make this a celebration to remember!

Skills Classes

Yellow Brick Road

Patricia Wright

Wednesday, June 10 & 24  12:00 - 2:00 p.m.

Patricia makes the most beautiful quilts using this classic beginner pattern.  She uses quick cutting and piecing techniques to shortcut the time needed to make this quilt.  Use sophisticated batik fabrics with unique color combinations for a modern look or classic Thimbleberries for a county look.  They all look wonderful in this pattern.  It's great for kid's quilts too!  Patricia has scheduled two sessions to include the quilting.

Bev's Lemonade Runner

Beverly Morris

Tuesday, June 22 & 29  10:30 - 1:00 p.m.

This is a premier of a new pattern from Abigayle's.  Dreaming of summer brought visions of icy pitchers of lemonade enjoyed in the garden.  Since we always translate life into fabric, of course a table runner was born.  Yellow and white for Bev and Cherry Lemonade - red and off-white for Nancy.  Simple color placement, half square triangles, on-point piecing with added jumbo rick-rack come together in a little quilt calling for outdoor fun.  The second class will include quilting the runner in class on our new BERNINA 830 embroidery machines for perfect quilting in the hoop. (Designs included in class fee!)  You will leave with your runner almost done!  Just bring on the lemonade!

Finish embroidery during the second class.

Nancy's Creative Curves

Nancy Bryant

Wednesday, June 23  2:30 - 4:30 p.m.

Nancy has been requested to do her easy piecing - yes easy piecing - curves class.  Very sophisticated looking quilts can be easily made using the methods of Elisa's Backporch.  You will love the acrylic templates for fast, multiple layer cutting and the great instructions in the books.  Nancy has alot of fun teaching this class, so join her and you'll see why!
